Anyhow, here's a couple collections that stuck with me.

Orphans by Charles D'Ambrosio. It's becoming clear that D'Ambrosio's new collection of essays re-titled Loitering (Orphans with bonus tracks) will finally reach the masses with the thunderstorm of praise these essays have always deserved. I actually think the new title makes more thematic sense. I just ran a Google search on D'Ambrosio to make sure I wasn't misspelling his name and found copies of Orphans selling on Amazon for upwards of 100 dollars. That may seem like a steep price for a book small enough to fit in your pocket, but the smallness of the collection is part of the appeal. I'll probably buy a copy of Loitering to check out what's been added, but I'll definitely hang on to Orphans, a book I can't picture parting ways with.
