Just noticed, though this is probably less than shocking, that the sources list in the back of David Shields'
Reality Hunger, being 618 sources (in the most recent galley I have) includes only 50 (on my count--a little rough, I admit) quotes from women. It includes 21 quotes from John D'Agata. I'm not sure what to make of this. Anyone?
That makes sense though, since women comprise only 9 percent of our population and John D'Agata comprises nearly 4 percent himself.
